This role will suit an experienced Senior Advisor, who can hit the ground running and make a difference in the heart of central government.
DPMC holds a unique position in Government. Working in the Ministerial Services team provides an opportunity to see the full range of work undertaken across our organisation. Unlike most Government agencies, DPMC has a broad number of Ministerial portfolios - from supporting people through emergency events to strategic work relating to National Security and Child Wellbeing and Poverty Reduction, - there is never a dull moment and always something to learn.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- have a 'can do' attitude and enjoy being part of a fast-paced environment

- have an advanced understanding of the Official Information Act (OIA) and experience handling complex and sensitive information when processing OIA requests.
- have experience coordinating the proactive release of Cabinet material
- have experience drafting Ministerial correspondence and responding to Written Parliamentary Questions (WPQs)
- be a self-starter, organised, and enthusiastic
- be a team player who enjoys supporting and mentoring staff, with a willingness to step up and lead the team when needed
- have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and comfortable working in an environment of continuous improvement
- be able to maintain a high-standard of work for yourself and the team.

A little bit about the friendly DPMC Ministerial Services team
The DPMC Ministerial Services team is located within the Strategy, Governance and Engagement Group (SGE). The team is a centralised group that oversees responses to Official Information Act (OIA) requests through the coordination and drafting of responses, and the provision of advice as required. We also draft departmental and Ministerial correspondence, coordinate draft answers to Written Parliamentary Questions (WPQs), and manage the publication of OIA responses and the proactive release of Cabinet material.
The team also provides OIA and correspondence support to the Office of the Prime Minister (PMO), the offices of all DPMC portfolio Ministers, and the Prime Minister's Chief Science Advisor, as required.
Our current team is made up of experienced advisors who have worked in multiple government agencies. We are a friendly and supportive team that values staff who can work both independently and collectively. We encourage professional development with on-going conversations regarding professional development plans.

**A little bit about DPMC**:
DPMC's purpose is to advance an ambitious, resilient, and well-governed Aotearoa New Zealand.
We have a unique role as the trusted adviser, leader, and steward of our system of executive government. We provide high quality, impartial advice and support services to the Prime Minister, Cabinet and the Governor General.
