Are you an experienced Automotive Mechanic seeking an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team? Our client, a major producer of dangerous goods tank wagons (fuel tankers), is looking for three skilled individuals to play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing these vital vehicles.
**About the Company**: Our client is dedicated to excellence in producing and maintaining dangerous goods tank wagons that outperform and outlast competitors. Specifically designed for New Zealand's challenging roads and farm tracks, the chassis and sub-frames are built with durability in mind.
**Responsibilities**: As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Performing preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Installing new machines and equipment as required.
- Overhauling, upkeeping, and repairing all plant machines.
- Reviewing and advising on engineering requirements and drawings.
- Ensuring safe working practices at all times.
- Carrying out routine inspections.
- Diagnosing, identifying faults, and executing repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and pumping systems.
- Undertaking occasional onsite inspections/breakdown work.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- A formal trade qualification.
- HGV Truck and Trailer driver’s license (Class 5).
- A DG endorsement is desirable.
- Excellent decision-making skills.
- Good knowledge of general motor/diesel mechanics, mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with low-level supervision.
- Experience working on flammable liquids or gases tank wagons is advantageous.
