**The Role**:
Working on one of our long term electricity distribution contracts, the Substations Electrical Project Engineer is an integral part of the team that is responsible for the delivery of projects. The roles of the Substation Electrical Project Engineer are:
**Health and Safety**: Support, implement and adhere to H&S policies and procedures. Promote a safe and environmentally sound working environment and a culture of safe and responsible behaviours and attitudes, ensuring
**Initiate & Define**: Complete detailed work scope/outline, budget, and schedules for completion. Assist Project Team in defining/clarifying project scope and level of detail required to satisfying customer expectations and project requirements.
**Design and Estimate**: Provide quality engineering design and estimation services, including quotations. Expenditure and revenues are estimated accurately to ensure profitable outcomes on all projects.
**Planning and Scheduling**: Plan, schedule and coordinate detailed phases of engineering/design work and high level construction work (with assistance for the Project Manager) for all projects.
**Control Costs**: Assist Project Manager in controlling project expenditures and schedule performance as necessary to satisfy project requirements and ensure satisfactory budget performance on all projects.
**Maximize Project Profitability**: Through appropriate project budgeting/pricing, utilization of resources and cost controls, maximize the profit margin on individual projects.
**About You**:
As a natural communicator you will enjoy liaising with our customers to ensure your designs meet specifications, on time and within budget. We’re a collaborative team and your participation, flexibility and calm manner will fit right in. To ensure we offer quality solutions we look for technical expertise, customer centric solutions and a commitment to delivering deadline.
Bachelor of Engineering, Technology or Science preferred. Alternatively a suitably recognised Electrical qualification will be considered.
Strong knowledge of medium to extra high voltage substation protection and physical design layout requirements.
Substantial (5+ years) technical expertise and project execution experience in design and implementation of substation electrical and protections systems.
Proven estimation and design experience
Excellent interpersonal, written communications, analytical and quantitative skills.
Evidence of potential or ability to manage consultants, designers and contractors.
Detail-oriented and self-motivated high achiever with ability to multi-task, perform duties in a collaborative working environment.
Able and willing to travel to projects sites and meetings
Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, scheduling software and have working knowledge of corporate accounting practices and business operations.
Ability to work positively and collaboratively as part of a wider team
Able to hold self and others accountable.
