**Emergency Medicine Registrars, Emergency Department 1.0 FTE**

**Full-time, permanent positions; six and twelve month runs.**

Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) has exciting opportunities for ED Registrars to join the in full time positions throughout the January 2024 to January 2025 registrar year. This run is accredited for Rural Hospital Medicine Training Program through the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. There is ability to supplement your time in Gisborne with other accredited training runs in Medicine and Paediatrics.

The Gisborne ED is home to a group of FACEM or vocationally registered emergency specialists who treat a volume of about 26,000 patients per year, with a 25% admission rate. We have a substantial portion of high acuity medical patients, trauma, and paediatrics. Our experienced specialists are eager teachers and provide solid support for our registrars. There are ample procedural opportunities. Our ED is a great place to increase your experience and expand your confidence while enjoying comfortable consultant backup. We’re proud of the diversity of our community and our team and anticipate ACEM accreditation as a linked site with Wellington hospital.

Ideal applicants should have at least 2 Years postgraduate experience and have completed at least a total of six month placement working in an Emergency Department at least a Senior House Officer level.

**Experience and Eligibility**

Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3+ or above.
