- Salary: $104,640 to $132,417 p.a. + Kiwisaver + Employee Wellness Benefit Tēnei tūranga - About the Role: MBIE’s Building for Climate Change team is working to reduce emissions from buildings during their construction and operation, and to also ensure New Zealand’s buildings are resilient enough to withstand changing climate conditions. If New Zealand is to achieve its climate change goals, including net zero carbon by 2050, the building and construction sector must play its part.

We are looking for a Senior Policy Advisor to work in the Building for Climate Change programme in Building System Performance branch. This is a fixed term opportunity, and we are open to people based in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch or Dunedin.

Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required

**Ideally you will have the following**:

- an interest in climate change or familiarity with the building and construction sector
- proven experience in developing policy advice, including a good working knowledge of machinery of government processes and policy project management.
- a good understanding of behavioural science and how it can be applied to help solve complex real-life policy problems
- experience using behavioural insights designs and approaches, including quantitative and qualitative methods
- the ability to work through ambiguity and deliver results
- be intellectually curious and have an aptitude for solving complex and sometimes, ambiguous problems
- be good at building relationships with stakeholders, delivery agencies and government
- excellent at communicating complex information orally, written and visually
- excellent ability to manage, prioritise and co-ordinate several important pieces of work simultaneously
