**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

Our Data & Digital Commercial Management team plays a vital part in the implementation of strategies through the support of key business opportunities with our suppliers. The Commercial Management team sits within our Strategy & Investment team which also includes key capabilities for Industry Partnerships, Architecture and Portfolio Management.

The Data & Digital team have responsibility for designing, building and running the technology platforms that underpin the health sector. We run hundreds of national, regional, and district technology projects annually. We also have hundreds of active software, maintenance and support contracts. Meaning that ICT deals and contracting is at the heart of what we do.

Working with an extended team of procurement, commercial, and delivery teams your analysis, administration and contracting skills will help us ensure we manage our contract base and provide support to extended procurement, commercial and business teams.

As we are a newly formed entity there are plenty of opportunities to help us improve the way we do things. A key part of this role will be to help us move away from manual processes and into the structured systems that Health New Zealand is developing. In a large team there will be opportunities to improve your commercial and contracting skills, with opportunities across procurement and broader commercial landscape.

**Mōu | About you**

As a valued member of our team, your role is all about building strong connections and driving successful partnerships. You'll work closely with our procurement, and delivery teams to ensure smooth interactions with our suppliers. Your support will be crucial for our Data and Digital teams to make the most out of our contracts and commercial relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

The Commercial Analyst will support the team by assisting in the supplier contracting lifecycle, coordinating contract management, approvals, contract administration and contract renewals. In addition, the Commercial Analyst will undertake analysis and investigation activities in support of key commercial initiatives. This includes working with the team to develop and manage templates and contracting guidelines, as well as supporting the team in the review of contracts in accordance with those templates and guidelines.

The Commercial Analyst assists in the development / enhancement / quality changes of the contract register for active entitlements and agreements. Additionally, this role provides timely and informed input into reports/requests and briefings as needed.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Previous experience in ICT commercial project or procurement strategy, planning, and management, in a large complex environment.
- Analytical and technical skills, including the ability to collect, assimilate and summarise raw data in a systematic way to build a useful dataset for analysis.
- Advanced use of MS Excel for analysis and reporting and MS Word.
- Sound understanding of procurement processes.
- Sound understanding of legal terms and technology industry contracting norms.
- Experience writing proposals, and development of approval memos and presentations.
- Experience working with financial systems (purchase orders and payables).
- Experience working in a contract management system setting contract triggers, reminders and ensuring appropriate documentation is loaded.
- Demonstrates willingness, and ability, to communicate and build constructive/effective relationships with stakeholders to build a solid understanding of their operational environment and context
- An appreciation for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups will be advantageous.

Your experience may be varied. But a broad experience in analysis and administration capabilities will help us manage an substantive supplier contract portfolio. There will be multiple opportunities to improve your skills in commercial and contracting skills, with opportunities across procurement and broader commercial landscape.
