The purpose of the Senior Estimator position is to lead the Estimating team and commercial bids, overseeing all aspects of tendering, bid management and tendering administration. Advise on contractual litigation strategies and to act as Estimating Bid Manager. As part of the leadership team you will assist in business development and securing client and sub-contractor relationships with existing and new client base.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review of project specifics with a view to commentary on commercial risk identification, management and mitigation through the tendering period.
- target upcoming projects and business leads with key clients, review opportunities pre-tender, contribute to decision making around project selection.
- Assist in the management and resolution of financial issues as they arise, and work alongside the Commercial Manager to facilitate the necessary solution in line with the tendered strategy.
- ensure the estimating targets are achieved by ensuring that the tender bid team are well directed and understand the financial aspects of the project.
- Forecasting and managing workloads of the estimating and tendering teams
- Ensure tender negotiations are closed out and risk reduced where possible and a sufficient handover to the project delivery team is undertaken.
- Lead and mentor the estimating teams within the Christchurch office
- Build strong working relationships with the construction team, contractors, consultants, external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate full and positive participation as a member of the management team at meetings and planning sessions.
