Our client, Pacific Clinical Research Network is a group of private research facilities, with sites located across New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Pharmacist to join the team in a brand new multi-phase Clinical Trial Unit in North Auckland. PCRN believe in promoting a supportive and professional work environment and have a well-established Leadership Team and Board leading PCRN into new ventures. PCRN are willing to accommodate a part or full-time option as the organisation is in a growth phase.

The role of the Pharmacist is a specialised and important role, supporting both in-patient and out-patient trial-related procedures in accordance with study protocols, pharmacy manuals, in-house operating procedures, clinical, ethical and other regulatory standards.

**In this role you will**:

- Maintain a sound working knowledge of the investigational product requirements for the clinical trials
- Work with study sponsor(s) in development of study specific procedures for IP, storage, accountability, preparation, dispensing and return/destruction
- Establish quality standards to maintain pharmacy equipment performance
- Maintain pharmacy productivity by monitoring the staff capacity with the clinical trial requirements
- Maintain pharmacy team by recruiting (in conjunction with the Operations Manager), selecting, orienting and training employees
- Keep supplies stocked by determining inventory levels
- Identify informational needs to manage pharmacy systems
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team
- Complete annual appraisals on direct reports (Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants)
- Comply with professional continuing education licensure requirements compliance with all ICH-GCP guidelines, local regulations, sponsors and company policies and procedures
- Ensure specific equipment needs are available for investigational product handling
- Assist with the collection and collation of documents for the Clinical Trial
- Monitor pharmacy work processes to ensure Clinical Trial is conducted per protocols within the allocated budget in a timely manner
- A Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years post-registration experience as a practicing Pharmacist
- Expert knowledge of pharmacy health and safety protocols
- Excellent leadership skills, leading by example, and providing direction
- Excellent administration and computing skills
- High attention to detail, maintaining excellent documentation practices
- Experience as a Principal Pharmacist or Team Leader (Pharmacy) is desirable
- Experience in a clinical research unit is desirable but not essential
