**Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)**
The primary function of this CNS position is to utilise specialist nursing knowledge and skills to provide patient focused care and coordination that will optimise the patient's journey, improve health outcomes and ensure that an excellent quality of care is provided. You will work closely with members of the district-wide Ophthalmology team.
Hours of work will generally be between 8.00am - 4.30pm weekdays, with some weekend clinics.

The successful applicant will bring the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of five years - clinical expertise within ophthalmology in tertiary or secondary care.
- A post-graduate nursing qualification, or working towards a clinical masters of nursing, ideally with a focus on ophthalmology nursing.
- Advanced nursing practice skill, knowledge and capability - evidenced through participation in service and care planning within multidisciplinary teams of professionals, focused on effective delivery of care to this specialised client group.
- Proven leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills integral to continuity of service delivery.
- Good time management skills and ability to manage work in a planned and coordinated manner.
- Te Whatu Ora staff are required to have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccinations._
