**Kaiārahi | Equally Well Lead**
Permanent position with flexible hours between 24 and 32 hours per week available.
**About Equally Well**
Equally Well is an initiative comprised of a group of people and organisations with the common goal of achieving physical health equity for people who experience serious mental illness and addiction issues (SMIA). In Aotearoa and overseas, people experiencing SMIA tend to have poorer physical health than their counterparts in the general population, and a shorter life expectancy (up to 25 years). Pegasus Health endorses the Te Pou Equally Well Consensus Position Paper and in doing so, acknowledges the physical health inequities in people who experience SMIA and commits to taking action to achieve physical health equity.
**About the Role**
The Equally Well Lead role is a newly created permanent nursing position. The role will bring focused leadership to the development, delivery, and integration of Pegasus Health's Equally Well projects, programmes, and activities across Canterbury.
The purposes of this position are to:
- Provide education and support to navigation services to ensure effective engagement & service delivery for SMIA clients.
- Provide education to and strengthen relationships with general practice teams to build capacity to deliver effective, ongoing healthcare for patients with SMIA.
- Explore and strengthen ways of identifying people experiencing SMIA who are not currently supported/engaged with primary care and enable this engagement.
- Advocate for and contribute to the development of consistent and effective data collection, processes, and systems for identifying, monitoring and evaluating this population group and the effectiveness of Pegasus' Equally Well activities, projects and programmes.
**What you will bring**
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make demonstrable improvements in transforming the care and experience for people living with serious mental illness and addiction issues resulting in improved physical health outcomes.
You will be able to bring the following to the role:
- Registered with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) as a Registered Comprehensive Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience working in Specialist Mental Health Services or equivalent area
