Our Intelligence Analysts (Tactical) work to support the Police Tactical Response Model (TRM). No day will be the same in this role. You will provide Tactical Intelligence to tactical decision makers, that is timely, accurate, clear, and relevant. We need people who are innovative and want to work with us to develop our Tactical Intelligence capability.

You will be providing Tactical Intelligence that primarily supports the newly-formed Offender Prevention Teams, as well as Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) and other frontline operational areas. Your intelligence analysis will be used to disrupt the criminal environment, facilitate arrests, assist with surveillance operations, target offenders, and gather evidence.

You must be able to cope with the nature of the work we undertake, and the organisational challenges presented in Police Intelligence. There may be occasions where you and your team will need to deploy to another location at short notice.

The preferred applicant will have a sound knowledge of Intelligence practices and crime science, and experience in scenario generation, including scanning and exploring future states.

The preferred applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

- have excellent written and verbal communication skills (accurate and concise) and be able to support and guide others in critical thinking.
- adept at communicating with and influencing decision makers, from the frontline to senior management.
- able to work unsupervised (reliable and dependable), a self-starter and someone who shows initiative.
- able to work unsupervised.
- able to work effectively and calmly under pressure.
- able to work to short deadlines.
- comfortable managing multiple demands from a variety of people.
- available at short notice and able to work at alternate locations where required.

To succeed in this role, you need to be comfortable and confident when talking to others and willing to build your understanding of policing and Intelligence. You will need to work with people from a wide range of internal and external workgroups and agencies. Communication is key as you will be presenting analysis through written reporting and verbal briefings to a range of audiences. Time will not always be your friend.

A basic understanding of Geospatial Intelligence analysis and some radio communications experience is desirable but not essential.
