**About the role**

The Recovery Analyst is a hybrid role that combines traditional analyst responsibilities with geospatial analysis and data science. The role will provide high-level support to the organization for recovery through quality geospatial and data analysis. The Recovery Analyst will also develop relevant tools, products, and techniques to enable good decision making by our customers.

The Recovery Analyst will support councils' recovery environment to ensure information, mapping, and processes are created and maintained in accordance with best practice. The role will also integrate significantly with Recovery, the Internal Partnerships Hub, Information Services, and the Business Intelligence Team.

You’ll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council’s work.

**Duties Include**:

- Develop and/or provide input into project plans for recovery projects
- Manage, monitor and update GIS date to ensure it is current and accurate
- Providing advice on investment priorities, whole of network implications, and lifecycle costs
- Sound knowledge of AutoCAD

**Skills & experience**
- Sound interpretative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advance written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interpret and understand legislative requirements
- Sound knowledge of technologies, trends and practises in the information Technology sector
