**About the role**:

The Senior Advisor provides planning and performance reporting, advice and support across the Finance and Performance Group (F&P) and MBIE as a whole. In this role you will enjoy a high level of autonomy to influence, build relationships and help drive an integrated planning and performance reporting cycle across the Ministry.

You will support the production of key accountability documents for the Ministry. You will also work with the Planning and Performance team to ensuring quality and consistency of advice and processes to lift performance and drive new and innovative ways of delivery across the branch, Finance and Performance and wider MBIE.

This is a fantastic role offering the opportunity and support to grow your career into more senior roles, supporting across the business and will have exposure to strategy implementation.

**Skills and experience required**:

- Proven experience in a planning and performance reporting preferably within central Government or a large corporate
- Understanding of ‘machinery of government’ and Public Sector reporting requirements an advantage
- Demonstrated communication, facilitation, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical information in plain language
- Proven ability to develop trust and credibility and build strong working relationships with managers and staff
- Experience working with and improving reporting systems and processes
