**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Podiatrists to join our Hospital based Podiatry Active Foot Team to meet the demand within the region. We are seeking experienced podiatrists with the skills and knowledge to provide evidence based practice to assess, treat and manage complex high risk foot wounds and active foot conditions.
You will work as part of a small team of podiatrists providing assessment, treatment and management of active high risk foot conditions primarily in outpatient clinics based at Hutt Hospital. The caseload includes highly complex, diverse people with high risk foot wounds and active foot conditions, the majority with diabetes and vascular complications.
The podiatry team liaises closely with other services, primarily Orthopaedics, Diabetes, orthotists and Wound Specialist Nurses onsite and the Vascular MDT team offsite.
Facilitation and co-ordination of combined appointments to optimise patient outcomes. Work alongside orthopaedics, diabetes, wound specialist nurses, orthotists, renal, dermatology, rheumatology and infectious disease specialists, district nursing, GP practices, community podiatrists, outreach services, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers to improve patient outcomes and reduce amputation and hospital admission rates for diabetes foot complications and other high risk foot populations.

We are a small team of committed professionals working together to reduce amputations and optimise outcomes for those eligible for hospital level podiatry. The Hutt Valley Podiatry team are located in General Outpatients at Hutt Hospital with two dedicated Podiatry rooms
Podiatry teams at Capital Coast DHB and Hutt Valley DHB have recently amalgamated to become a regional service which provides specialized podiatric care to the High risk foot caseload in the wider Wellington and Hutt Valley Region.
The Podiatry team are part of a wider Allied Health Outpatient team including social workers, dietitians and physiotherapists. Our team aims to deliver excellence as part of a team of highly skilled, highly motivated and supportive outpatient clinicians. We offer opportunities for professional development, supervision and mentoring, and being part of research opportunities.
**Moū - About you**
- Podiatry Board of NZ registered with current annual practicing certificate
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- Membership of Wounds society of NZ and New Zealand Society of the Study of Diabetes (NZSSD) - (desirable)
- Strong and clear communication skills
- Active team player
- Motivation to be part of audits, research projects and working to end of scope through up to date evidence-based best practice
