Pact provides various residential and community mental health and addictions services in the Hutt Valley. We expect that the majority of the work will be based at the Riverside Crisis Respite Service.
- **Riverside Crisis Respite** **Service** provides support for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The clients residing at this service have each been assessed and referred to Pact, because their needs can be managed without an admission to the inpatient service or the client is on the path of transitioning from inpatient back to the community, the service provides a safe and positive home environment that helps our clients to maintain their independence and work towards recovery while being supported by a team of clinicians and support workers on site.

- Job Description
**The Role**
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Clinician to provide clinical support on a part time basis for our Crisis Respite service. Pact will provide a thorough orientation on all services and a supportive environment.
At Crisis Respite the work will involve a combination of triaging referrals, managing intakes, liaising with Hutt Valley DHB, MHAIDS and duty managers, client welfare, medication management and assisting with the coaching and mentoring of support workers by developing and improving their mental health knowledge.

You will need to have relevant clinical qualifications, registration and an annual practicing certificate or be working towards this.
- Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience with mental health and substance use disorders and understanding of behavioral challenges
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team of professionals and work collaboratively with external stake holders
- Ability to work effectively, safely and creatively with clients and their family/whanau
- If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
- A full driver’s license and computer skills.
- You must be available for an interview in Lower Hutt if successfully shortlisted
