We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join us in Auckland or Wellington. This is a permanent full-time position.

 Our role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Manager to take up a Senior position in our product team deputising to the Head of Product and Propositions when required.
The Senior Product Manager will have the opportunity to share their experience and knowledge while growing their leadership skills through leading and mentoring other members of the product team on key projects as well as supporting them with day to day tasks.
You’ll be responsible for the end to end product lifecycle management of our In-Market products available through all our distribution channels (Advised, Direct and Bank), getting exposure and owning wide variety of projects and initiatives. Champion change for the product team through actively seeking out opportunities for innovation to drive recommendations on product developments while supporting product and business strategies.
Get the opportunity to work closely with key internal stakeholders across all business units from underwriting and claims, to actuaries and legal to optimise products and customer experience.
Manage key external stakeholder relationships from reinsurers through to third party providers and strategic partners, to support the successful management of products.
You’ll also play a supporting role to the wider team and business with the management of the legacy portfolio’s where required.
From the scoping of enhancements and development of new innovative product propositions to meet customer needs, to ongoing product reviews that ensure existing products meet conduct and regulatory requirements - no two days are the same

Work Experience

5+ years’ experience in a product management role
Proven experience in the Life or Health Insurance industry is preferred
In-depth knowledge of end-to-end product lifecycle management
Ability to own and drive change of products from research and design to build and implementation.
Understanding of customer needs and experience in collating and analyzing internal and external data to uncover insights that can be used to identify opportunities
Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience shows you can work collaboratively and build relationships across a large organisation
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical insurance terms and concepts into plain English, easy to understand language for customers.
