We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland.

We are part of Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

This is a permanent role in a 24/7 department. Rostered shift work is an integral part of this role. Shifts are 24/7 rostered Monday to Sunday and the hours are predominately 8.00am - 4.30pm working 40 hours per week.

The Automation and Support Services (ALSS) department which consists of Specimen Services, Covid 19 registration, Automation (chemistry) and Tissue Management areas.

We are a high workload area and we perform the pre-analytical processing which includes specimens receipt and despatch, registration of specimens, allocating and triaging specimens and tissue management for the Auckland DHB.

Our Automated chemistry has Roche pre analytical and analytical automated instrumentation. Our team works with all departments in LabPLUS.
