**Overview**
Our client is New Zealand’s leading electronic payments company and Kiwis rely on us to ensure that electronic purchasing is available wherever purchases for goods and services need to be made. In our history to date, we have put through a whopping 16 billion transactions, worth an estimated $700B, and have worked with over 120,000 merchants. They've been processing secure and reliable digital transactions for over 25 years throughout the country on our market leading network. Our solutions are PCI compliant, which enables sensitive cardholder data to be protected using the most appropriate security controls. Given this we’re now on the hunt for a new Security Analyst to be responsible for providing support to the platform operations and development team, delivering products which are safe, secure and reliable, and ensure that their network is kept safe and secure.
**The role**
This role will begin on an initial 6-month contract, with possibilities for extensions. In this role you’ll be responsible for safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving potential security and compliance problems, implementing security controls and providing support to the development and operational teams. Your primary focus will be on the delivery of technology products and processes.
In a normal week though you should expect to be spending most of your time on:
- Reviewing and contributing to developer work to ensure outcomes are secure and compliant.
- Implementing appropriate IT Security controls.
- Supporting the agile delivery of secure products through local and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Designing and executing regular assurance tasks to monitor effectiveness and efficiency of current security controls.
- Providing security analysis to support architects and developers.
- Completing operational security tasks to ensure ongoing security and compliance.
- Contributing to ongoing security awareness across the organisation.
**The team**
The team at is made up of architects, analysts, and consultants. We come from a unique blend of backgrounds but are all united by (coffee) being passionate about keeping our network safe and secure. This role will have widespread exposure across the business and you can expect to work with people from every business unit and of every level in the business internally. You will also work alongside a broad range of external parties including consultants, compliance partners and auditors, outsource partners, card schemes, banks, and third-party vendors.
**What we're looking for**
- 2+ years as Security Analyst working within an agile development environment OR sound experience as a QA/Dev in a previous agile environment.
- Ability to code, preferably in Python, Java and REST.
- Excellent communication skills at a technical & non-technical level.
- Experience with PCI DSS is preferable.
- Good understanding of security principles.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of security controls, especially within a cloud context.
- Security design reviews, risk assessments and PCI assessment experience.
- Encryption, certificates and cryptographic concept experience.
- Internet / mobile payment gateway / financial or banking systems understanding and / or experience would be preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, API Gateway and Terraform would also be great.
