The Database Engineering area is responsible for the vast majority of database environments used by Westpac for providing world-class financial services to its’ customers.

As a member of this engineering area the role will share ownership of the database manage work in the Oracle Database Management Software Technology and play a key role in the design, creation, implementation, administration, maintenance, creation and support of database and related database tools and software that are part or interact with that software.

Provide technical (and other work related) advice to other Engineering squads, business users, Service/Product Owners, Architects, etc.

Mentoring of junior members of the team and providing consultancy on all Database aspects.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- 5+ years relevant experience in a similar level.
- Oracle certification desired.
- Installing and configuring Database systems, patching and upgrades, designing & implementing new Databases and associated objects.
- Monitoring and reporting on Database service availability.
- Maintaining the development, testing and production Database environments including all aspects of capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of Databases.
- Developing, implementing, and auditing Database security.
- Assisting with developing policies and procedures governing corporate Database operations and related issues.
- Provide Database consultancy by delivering accurate, relevant and up to date (Westpac and Industry best practice) information to project members, IT team members and developers through the project and support life cycle.
