**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the Role**:
As a Principal Policy Analyst, you will lead a range of projects and policy initiatives within the Ministry. A key work programme is to develop advice on policy settings to support fiscal sustainability of the disability support system, while providing choice and control for disabled people over the support they receive.
You will conduct thorough policy analysis in order to deliver high-quality recommendations on challenging disability policy topics.
You will form sound working relationships with colleagues, senior staff and managers across the Ministry, as well as forming good networks and relationships with senior staff in other health and social sector agencies relevant to the nature of the work.
You will coach and mentor Policy Analysts and Senior Policy Analysts to help them develop their skills and expertise. You will represent the Ministry in inter-departmental working groups and contribute to cross-sectoral policy development.
This is a 12 month fixed term role.

**Ko wai koe | About You**:
You will have successful experience providing technical leadership and senior expertise on complex policy work that focuses on fiscal sustainability and financial data.
You will have highly developed analytical skills and experience in designing analytical approaches and ability to produce and recognise high quality policy work.
You will have strong project management and leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor others and a collaborative approach to your work.
You will have familiarity with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how this applies to government policy.
To undertake this role successfully, you will be a disabled person or be able to establish credibility and trust with the disability community, as well as having empathy and an understanding of the unique and diverse experiences of disabled people.

**Salary range**: $117,419.00 - $174,069.00
