The restaurant focuses on regional cuisine that highlights the best local produce from the Taranaki region. Featuring indoor and outdoor dining areas, it is the perfect place to relax with a meal accompanied by fine New Zealand wine or gin. This is a very busy restaurant and we set very high expectations, so we are only seeking the absolute best people to deliver on our promises and to provide the ultimate guest experience.

We are looking for a vibrant and charismatic Food and Beverage Supervisor, with a strong background in the hospitality industry to join our small Food and Beverage team.

The role requires flexibility to work on a roster basis any day of the week between Monday to Sunday, 5 days per week, including public holidays, when applicable. Breakfast shifts will start as early as 04:45 and late shifts will be until the restaurant close time, normally by 23:00, sometimes later, sometimes a bit earlier. You will be required to work breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts at some point.

This role is a permanent full-time role, guaranteed for 30 hours minimum per week.

As our Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will assist the Food and Beverage Management team in leading and developing our Food and Beverage team members and assist in managing Haukai Bistro & Bar, our hotel room service, and our conferencing / banqueting operations while maximising profitability and exceeding guest/customer expectations. You will work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to ensure the continued success of Haukai Bistro & Bar, help maintain and create new policies and procedures and ensure continued development and training of our Food and Beverage team members.

This role is hands-on, you will need to lead by example and ensure that you are present and visible on the floor during key times throughout the day.

**Duties**:

- Ensure consistent outstanding service and experience for all our guests
- Assist in leading and training our team of F&B Attendants and continuously driving the team to maintain and provide high standards of service
- Oversee the F&B operations in the absence of the F&B Manager
- Handle large conference groups of up to 200 delegates
- Opening and closing of the restaurant
- Stock takes and ordering

- A friendly, energetic, and hard-working attitude and outstanding customer service skills
- Great communication skills
- Experience dealing with and managing guest requests, difficult situations, complaints, and feedback
- Minimum 1-year experience in an F&B supervisory role / Senior F&B attendant role
- Confidence in managing team performance and development
- A high level of barista skills would be beneficial
- Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, and beers (including pouring and serving) would be beneficial
- Cocktail-making skills would be beneficial
- Experienced in buffet and a la carte serving style
- Experience in managing conferences and banquets
- Experience using Micros POS or a similar POS system
- A current GM Certificate or LCQ certificate would be advantageous

The pay rate for this job is **$28.18** per hour
