This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $104,270 to $147,205 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
Working alongside a team of passionate Three Waters engineering professionals, you will be responsible for planning and delivering network investigations into regional water supply issues alongside developing and informing improvements to allow delivery on our outcomes and service goals, for both asset and non-asset solutions. You will also manage engineering consultants and contractors to deliver work programmes as well as taking the lead on complex issues, reviewing work and providing support and technical guidance to the team.
This role sits within our Network Development and Delivery group, which leads the investigation, design and delivery of a three-year rolling work programme that delivers fit-for-purpose infrastructure solutions for client councils to deliver on our service goals.
With a strong emphasis on collaboration this role will see you:

- Complete challenging and interesting projects across the three waters
- Develop your career with support from management and principal level engineers
- Provide technical advice and support to other teams within Wellington Water
- Support the capital program and investment planning processes for our client councils

About you
To complement your excellent relationship management and strong communication skills, to be successful in this role you will bring:

- A relevant tertiary qualification such as Chartered Professional Engineering (preferred), Bachelor Engineering or Diploma in Engineering (preferably Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering)
- Strong technical knowledge in drinking water treatment
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems
- Leading analytical skills and ability to manage data to inform and make meaningful decisions
- An aptitude to coach, mentor and develop less experienced colleagues

About us
Wellington Water is the Wellington region's professional water services provider. We are 100 percent council owned and funded by Wellington City, Hutt City, Porirua City, and Upper Hutt City councils, Greater Wellington Regional Council and South Wairarapa District Council. 
Our councils own the water infrastructure in the region, and they task us to manage the infrastructure and deliver water services to their communities. 
Our job is to provide safe and healthy drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, and ensure the stormwater network is well managed. We do this on behalf of our council owners.
