- Do you thrive on varied and challenging work?
- Do you have an optimistic outlook with the desire to learn?
- Do you want to work in an organisation that is making NZ a better place for people today and in the future?

Mō mātou | About Us
At Te Tai Ōhanga - The Treasury, we are committed to Tiakitanga to make Aotearoa a better place for people today and in the future. We safeguard New Zealand's finances and are the Government's trusted economic advisor. Our vision is to lift living standards for all New Zealanders.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
This role is a hybrid role in which you cover standard EA responsibilities, alongside additional advisory duties for the COO. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with the COO to help set the strategy and priorities for the group, and act on behalf to deliver to them. This role provides a high degree of autonomy and the chance to get further involved in areas of interest.
It's a great opportunity for an experienced administrator with a strategic mindset to further progress their career and gain advisory experience, or for a recent graduate with at least 1-2 years of office experience to further develop a broad skillset within a central agency.
To be successful in the role, you'll have a previous track record of achieving results, building positive stakeholder relationships, and showing strategic capability. You'll possess the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple complex priorities. You will also be a highly organised self-starter, with strong attention to detail and comfort dealing with ambiguity.
If you want to be a key advisor to a senior leader and you are committed to delivering a high standard of administrative support, continuously thinking about how you can improve processes and achieve outcomes, and are known for being one-step ahead, then this is the opportunity for you
Ō pūmanawa | About You
- An ability and interest in working with the COO to set the strategic direction
- Exemplary organisational skills and sound judgement to anticipate, coordinate, and execute requirements for meetings and ensure the COO is fully prepared for all their commitments
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills underpinned by strong written and oral communication abilities
- Experience being adaptable, working calmly under pressure, and anticipating and resolving problems with a can-do approach
- Tech savviness, with strong MS office skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly

Ko ngā hua | What We Offer
- Fantastic exposure to a central government agency with interesting and varied work
- The ongoing support of a wider Business Support cohort
- An environment where excellence is recognised, and staff are encouraged to develop their own talents and potential
- A workplace that values diversity and inclusion and recognises the value of your lived experiences
- Flexible work arrangements and encouragement to enjoy a positive work/life balance with a range of health and wellbeing initiatives
- 5 weeks annual leave for permanent full-time employees (pro-rated for part-time employees)

As per our policy, please no agencies and unsolicited CV referrals.
