Prime Hotels is looking for a superstar HR Generalist to join the team. We are an ever-growing hospitality business with 8 hotels and motels across the North Island with a few more in the pipeline.

Reporting to the Group General Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to travel around our beautiful country to see our sites. This is a very hands on role, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring all day-to-day HR operations are well handled, as well as being a key part of the Leadership team.
You’ll be a trusted advisor, working with our Hotel Managers to support and deliver the business strategy, ensuring our team remain well rewarded, engaged and appreciated. No two days are the same at Prime Hotels, so you’ll enjoy some variety. We are looking for someone who can lead and coach our Managers to continue the growth and development of our people.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Growing, leading and developing our Managers to ensure best practice is followed
- Facilitating talent management, employee engagement, succession planning, recruitment and retention
- Working with our Managers to develop ways to inspire and motivate the team
- Implementing learning and development solutions to build people capability
- Educating and coaching Managers on HR disciplines and processes
- Developing and implementing policy, procedure and process improvement initiatives
- Building and rolling out a retention strategy
- Ensuring all employment documents and paperwork are prepared quickly and appropriately
- Ensuring legal compliance and alignment with employment law
- Supporting company transformation initiatives; values, capabilities, performance, engagement communication
Skills and Experience:

- Relevant experience in a generalist HR role
- A passion for teamwork, helping support our people, coaching and mentoring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a calm and positive approach
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources is desirable
- Previous experience working within the hotels and hospitality industry is highly preferred so you understand the challenges and opportunities faced by our team.
