Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL) is a busy diagnostic facility providing services to inpatients and outpatients at Te Whatu Ora Waitaha (Canterbury). You will be working for the largest medical laboratory within Te Waipounamu
You will work
alongside a team of other phlebotomist - s based in the Pathology Dept at Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury in Christchurch.
You - ll be
passionate about providing a high-quality service and be able to build trusted
relationships with patients and their whānau.
In this role,

**you will be responsible for**:

- Providing a

high-quality service to clients
- Collecting blood
samples from inpatients and outpatients within the service
- Registering samples
into the Delphic Laboratory Information System
- Carrying out
processes required for the pre-analytical processing of samples
- Interpretation and
input of request forms
- Checking of data
for accuracy and information
- Liaising with
staff, patients and referrers effectively
- Maintaining
knowledge and on-going education in PhlebotomyNgā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Your skills will

**include**:

- Excellent

interpersonal and communication skills
- Bring proactive and
taking initiative
- The ability to pick
up and use technology and software systems
- Registration with
the Medical Sciences Council is preferred but not essential, as training will
be provided.This is a casual role with no
set hours and you must be willing to work weekends on occasionally.
