**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**

Reporting to the Manager of Learning Services, this position:

- Provides learning support tailored to the diverse needs of ākonga, with a special focus on ākonga Pacific at Ara.
- Fosters positive and supportive academic learning environments (including small groups, classes, 1:1 sessions, and flexible learning spaces) using effective teaching strategies to ensure ākonga Pacific success and retention.
- Collaborates with academic colleagues to develop academic literacies that align with the graduate profile, in a timely and relevant manner.

**Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako - Skills and Experience**
- Knowledge of Pacific identities, perspectives and cultures
- Experience of building positive relationships with ākonga Pacific and/or Pacific communities
- An understanding of the demands of tertiary learning environments and their impacts on ākonga Pacific
- An ability to respond to ākonga and tutor needs in a flexible, timely and culturally-appropriate manner
- An ability to work collaboratively with others, especially Learning Services and Pacific colleagues
- Excellent listening, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Digital literacy skills necessary to support learning
- Advocacy, problem solving and negotiation skills
