Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Lower North Region People Services team is driven and committed to delivering key HR initiatives to improve performance and raise capability across multiple business units and service streams. This senior level role will play a critical part in supporting those who are delivering these outcomes at the frontline supporting Hawkes Bay Regional Prison and Community Probation.
This is a challenging role working in a dynamic environment. Critical to your success will be your proven ability to deliver senior level HR advice and solutions in a complex ER focused setting.
Reporting to the People Services Manager (Lower North Region) you will draw on your proven experience to coach, guide and advise your customers on a broad range of issues including employment relations, HR policy and procedure and performance development. With your regional colleagues, you will also play a pivotal role in the implementation of high quality human resource strategies and ongoing delivery of services that contribute to the successful achievement of the Department's overall objectives. It is essential that you have a proven track record in dealing with complex ER issues and working in a unionised environment.

**As the successful applicant you will be able to demonstrate**:

- High level experience delivering operational human resource services effectively and efficiently at a senior level in a challenging environment
- Experience working closely and collaboratively with unions and other external stakeholders
- A proven ability to proactively develop, foster and maintain excellent working partnerships with internal stakeholders and management at all levels
- Experience in enhancing policy and strategies, and the delivery of quality human resource services tools and resources

The salary band for this position is $91,953 - $129,816. The mid point is $108,180. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
The role will require some travel around the district so a full driver licence is required.
