- Form strong relationships and work with Industry and other government agencies to proactively and positively influence compliance behaviours, culture and outcomes in a transport sector, sub-sector, supply chain, process (e.g. procurement) or system.
- Lead the Safer Commercial Transport compliance team in the Lower North Island
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe have a permanent opportunity for a Portfolio Manager to join our Safer Commercial Transport Team in the Lower North Island. As one of our Portfolio Managers across the country, you will focus on whanaungatanga (relationships) to facilitate, collaborate, connect, innovate and oversee the portfolio approach.In this role you will oversee the day to day operational delivery, work alongside outward facing industry partners and lead a team of direct and indirect reports. In addition to this you will:
- Identify risks to be mitigated in the sector or sub-sector or opportunities to discover and disseminate best practice.
- Form relationships with those that can influence better safety outcomes in the commercial transport industry.
- Ensure operating context of the sector or sub-sector is understood and appreciated through a variety of means.
- Develop and maintain a programme of work which documents how good safety outcomes could be achieved through leverage, influence and innovation.
- Ensure measurements of success are documented and reported against.
About you | Ko koe tēnei To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in bringing together multidisciplinary teams from across sectors to solve large complex issues
- Experience in creating a motivational work environment and enabling high performance
- Have outstanding people leadership skills with the ability to influence a range of stakeholders
- Experience leading change management and continuous improvement initiatives to drive performance and build capability
- An understanding of regulatory practice particularly within the Government context would be helpful
- The ability to think strategically and work to our vision and goals
