**About the Role**
Venue Managers at Cliftons take ownership of all on-site events delivery and the operational aspects of the venue they manage. Our business is diverse and tailored to our clients - from corporate training, planning days, teambuilding and conferences to exams and corporate cocktail parties.
We are seeking a motivated **Venue Manager** for our Auckland venue. Our Operations team is pivotal in ensuring each client enjoys a remarkable event experience through high levels of client service, F&B offerings, technical support and general presentation. This is hands-on (and often fast-paced) role that will suit someone either looking to step up into a true manager role or who is looking to step away from evening work. This position is predominantly business hours Monday to Friday inclusive, but some flexibility after hours / weekends is required, depending on client bookings.
On a day-to-day level, the role will encompass:

- Overall operational management of the venue, including presentation and maintaining service delivery KPIs
- Managing a small team (perm and casual staff) - including recruitment, rostering, on-the-job training, accountability and performance (with support provided from HR)
- Pre-empting client needs to deliver outstanding customer service, professionally managing enquiries and feedback and resolving issues
- Venue budget management and expense tracking
- Process management and ongoing improvement - openly sharing ideas with peers
- Liaising with building management**

**About You**
In addition, you will:

- Be an effective and hands-on people manager who is able to engage, motivate and manage a diverse team of individual contributors
- Be able to demonstrate cost control and labour management knowledge
- Be highly organised and methodical to successfully manage multiple events or clients simultaneously
- Be adaptive and thrive in a fast-paced and busy professional environment
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service
- Have the ability to confidently identify issues and quickly find the most appropriate customer centric solution
- Be self-motivated with strong verbal and communication skills
