We are seeking a** **Post-doctoral Fellow** to join the team at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, for a fixed term of 3 years in the laboratory of Associate Professor Kathy Mountjoy, Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology and Centre for Brain Research.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Develop Mass Spectrometry methods to map and quantitate neuropeptides in mammalian tissue and quantitate in plasma.
- Contribute research ideas and knowledge.
- Write comprehensive research protocols and undertake high-quality record keeping, data analysis, data interpretation, and dissemination of results at scientific meetings.
- Draft manuscripts suitable for publication in highly ranked peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Produce appropriate reports of progress in research to submit as required.

This is a **full-time** (40 hours per week), **fixed term** (up to 3 years) opportunity.
The remuneration is **PD1 - PD3: $87,772 - **$92,407 per annum**, dependent on skills and experience.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A PhD in Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or related Life Science Field.
- An in-depth understanding of mass spectrometry methodologies applied to researching metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases.
- Experience performing MALDI Imaging Mass Spectrometry, immunohistochemistry and microscopy.
- Experience that demonstrates Good Documentation Practices and accurate documentation of experiments in a lab notebook.
- Experience that demonstrates exceptional organisational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
