Koi Tū: The Centre for Informed Futures was established in 2019. It is an independent and nonpartisan think tank and research centre based at the University of Auckland, in the Faculty of Arts. The centre specialises in transdisciplinary research and analysis and generates knowledge, commentary and tools to address critical long-term national and global challenges arising from rapid and far-reaching social, economic, technological and environmental change.
**Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are seeking a motivated Research Fellow or Post-doctoral Fellow to join the Youth Mental Health Research Team at Koi Tū. In this role, you will be working with a team aiming to improve the understanding of young people’s mental health in New Zealand and around the world, across a range of audiences including the scientific community and broader society.

The research fellow or post-doctoral fellow will manage research activities across multiple streams, conducting analysis, liaising with research partners, and supporting the supervision of research assistants. They'll also communicate research findings to the community and decision makers through hui, conference presentations, and written communication.

You will join existing research projects, including:

- Community-based research with young people exploring their understandings of mental health, focused on improving our understanding of what impacts young people’s wellbeing and identifying potential avenues for prevention
- Evaluations of mental health services and interventions, aiming to improve our understanding of what works for which young people.

This is a** full time** (40 hours per week), 12-month **fixed term** opportunity.
The remuneration is $92,407 - $98,062 per annum, depending on the level of appointment.

You will join a team of trans-disciplinary researchers and staff who are passionate about the future of New Zealand and our place in the world, working in areas including maternal and child health, dealing with complexity and risk, and decision-making in the face of ongoing social, cultural and technological change.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

You will have:

- A PhD or equivalent in Psychology or a related field.
- Experience in research with children, adolescents, and/or young people on mental health and wellbeing.
- Proficiency in qualitative and mixed-methods research.
- Familiarity with youth mental health literature in Aotearoa and globally.
- Strong communication skills and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Knowledge of evaluation methodologies in mental health and implementation science.
