Ko koe tēnei | About you We are looking for a technically strong and experienced practitioner, who is comfortable influencing others and finding solutions in ambiguous situations. They will be able to inspire and lead colleagues, while building strong relationships with a diverse group of people, both inside and outside our organisation. Scanning for and managing risks, as well as good storytelling, will be second nature you. To be successful in this role, you will bring: '
- Significant experience at a principal level in strategic engagement planning and implementation of work programmes in partnership with relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with, and/or in, Government
- An ability to adjust pragmatically and constructively to changes in work practices, and to deal with competing demands, priorities, and a significant amount of ambiguity
- A strategic thinker with an eye to the detail
- Excellent writing and editing skills and experience presenting complex information clearly and simply
- Scans for, identifies, and influences, others to resolve complex risks and ambiguous situations
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Experience in facilitating and delivering community and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Sound knowledge of communications and engagement tools, techniques, and channels
- Demonstrated experience with stakeholder or community engagement and an understanding of customer experience management is strongly desirable
- A tertiary qualification in communications or a related discipline
- Training or qualification in IAP2 is desirable but not essential

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
