Since Riviera Hardware Holdings inception in 2009, where we started out with a small local Mitre 10 store in Warkworth, we have grown to be the largest group of stores within the Mitre 10 national network. We are proud to offer our customers a shopping experience like no other in New Zealand’s largest hardware retail store; Mitre 10 MEGA Albany as well as New Lynn, Warkworth, Whangaparoa and Silverdale, boast Columbus Coffee shops. We also have a Distribution Centre and own our own Frame and Truss Manufacturing Plant.

Kiwis love to garden, and we are known for assisting them with their gardening needs We are looking for an experienced retail professional with green fingers and a customer-focused attitude to take on a leadership role within our garden center.

Reporting directly to the Garden Categories Manager, you will have a strong focus on engaging, motivating and leading the garden team, you will inspire Team Members to continue to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers while striving to meet KPI targets and deliver growth within the department.

**Our ideal applicant**:

- 2-3 years leadership experience in either a retail, landscaping or ancillary services provider.
- Expertise across all aspects of green goods, ordering, maintenance, care and control, and associated products.
- Some exposure to coaching and mentoring
- Understand the importance of good customer relationships
- Full, valid class 1 or forklift license beneficial
- Operational knowledge on supply chain and suppliers.
- Working knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Passionate about continuous improvements.
- Ability to pro-actively work on own initiative.

**Duties**:

- Work alongside the Garden Categories Manager and take ownership of procedures relating to the processing of green goods and garden centre stock receipt, plant write offs, and stock take.
- Identify service performance and team behavioral shortfalls and take the necessary corrective actions.
- Lead and drive a high performing team. Ensuring team presentation standards meet or exceed Company expectations and that they provide a high standard of service to other members of the team and external customers.
- Assist in the induction and ongoing training of all team members in their duties and responsibilities, to ensure the training needs of team members relating to customer service, selling techniques, product knowledge and store services are being met.
- Demonstrate a high level of stock integrity awareness and operational standards.
- Support the Garden Categories Manager in managing the swift transfer of goods from the warehouse onto the floor.
- Ensure that stock is displayed in a way that allows the customer to best see the benefits and features of the product.
