**The Company**

My client is a large NZ business, privately owned that has a family feel. The people are down to earth and are just good people. The company has circa 330 staff so is not small. The business operates in the manufacturing sector and continues to grow and acquire. The operations are 3-4 separate companies currently with sales across NZ, Aus and the USA. An ERP system change is imminent which should allow this business to optimise their position and continue to move forward and capitalise on their already strong operation.

**The Role**

The role of CFO will be a key member of the SLT and be responsible for taking on a leadership role in the financial decision making that effects the Group of companies. Your key objectives will include:

- Managing the financial systems, practices and people, ensuring financial reporting and information is timely, accurate, complete and compliant with relevant accounting and taxation principles.
- Managing the Finance team across the group of companies, ensuring all businesses and statutory accounting, tax, reporting, budgeting and payroll activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Providing financial advice and support to Management on NPD, Capital investment, Trading Terms, Pricing, Customer Contracts, Value Engineering and Cost Out initiatives.
- Simplifying and improving reporting tools to support and enable managers to make good business decisions.
- Preparation for, and attendance of Monthly Board Meetings / Board Calls including taking of and the circulation of minutes.
- Monitor and analyse risks to the business and recommend mitigating actions.
- Ensuring accurate BOMs
- Recommendation on changes to Chart of Accounts.
- Developing funding strategies for investment in buildings, plant, systems and working capital for growth and negotiate with funding partners as required.
- Management of the Property portfolio including which includes an annual review of Insurance, changes of tenants and Repairs & Maintenance.
- Contribution to IT / Systems improvement projects to enhance staff productivity and quality of decision making.
- Working with the Managing Director on assessment of potential acquisitions

**Skills & Experience**

To be considered for this role you must CA or equivalent qualified. You will need to have the following attributes:

- A strong manufacturing production understanding with proven experience in enhancing plant performance
- An ability to create value, particularly around enhancing plant and process performance
- An ability to business partner other SLT heads of departments, ensuring financial insight is available for key decision making purposes
- A collegial style - with teamwork & interpersonal skills at the forefront.
- Commercial nous
- Proven critical and analytical thinking capability
- An ability to work in a fast paced dynamic entrepreneurial environment
- Strong leadership skills and proven experience managing a finance function in a complex organisation
- An ability to influence behaviours to improve business results
