Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Senior Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Developer will be responsible for providing high quality, professional Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing expertise to our internal and external clients and ensuring that our data warehousing strategies, policies, and solutions are aligned to data warehousing professional standards and best practice.
As a Senior within the team, you will enhance the team capability through guiding and mentoring more junior colleagues during their day-to-day work.
You will be responsible for all stages of the data warehouse operational process from setting up automated processes to monitoring, as well as maintenance and continuous improvements. This is a also a great opportunity to use your expertise in identifying and delivering opportunities for innovative improvements to the design of our BIDW platform solutions.
Our purpose is to enable users of the Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environment (on-prem and cloud) to get analytics and insights in the most efficient way and we achieve this by putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Mōu | About you
You have a passion for coaching and mentoring, whether that be with more junior members within your team or providing support and advise on data warehousing solutions to your clients. Your knowledge of Oracle Data Warehousing combined with your advanced experience working across the full development lifecycle will see you thrive in this role.
Building and fostering strong relationships at all levels within an organisation comes naturally to you as you work collaboratively with business stakeholders and technical partners.
Most of our team are based in Wellington, so this would be the preferred location, however we are open to someone across the Motu who is willing to travel to Wellington once a fortnight.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- An appropriate tertiary level professional qualification and/or significant relevant work experience.
- Advanced knowledge in designing and building Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions
- Demonstrable experience in mentoring/coaching of junior staff and clients
- Demonstrable experience in performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific technical / business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Demonstrable experience of Oracle Data Warehousing
