We are excited to share with you an opportunity to join the Papakura Local Board team at Te Paataka Koorero o Takaanini as the **Librarian: Youth**

Takaanini is a Bi-lingual Whānau Hub that seeks to respond to the call of whānau aspirations to create a place of value and belonging by weaving te ao Māori through our whare. The three pou this whare operates under are:
Pou Maatauranga: An inclusive approach to activate spaces to learn and play.
Pou Hauora: Whānau live well, are happy and healthy.
Pou Ooritetanga: Equitable access to facilities to grow community wellbeing kaupapa.

This whare is a bold attempt to indigenise how we create space, how we manage resources, how we build teams, how we listen, how we act, how we serve.

**He angituutanga: The opportunity**

This role is vital for connecting rangatahi and and whaanau with services and programmes in the Papakura - Manurewa Local Board libraries. You will be supporting the leadership team in the day-to-day running of the Paataka Koorero and provide opportunities to engage the community in the design of services and initiatives targeting rangatahi and whaanau. A key aspect of this role is that you be a role model and coach in providing excellent customer service to rangatahi, high schools, rangatahi service providers and the wider whaanau.

**He koorero moou: About you**

You lead from an indigenous world view, you recognise mana atua, mana tangata and mana whenua in your practice. You will have experience working with, Rangatahi me Whaanau. You will lead in the space of: maatauranga, ooritetanga and hauora. You will be able to coach, motivate and inspire the Paataka Koorero team in the delivery and design of innovative programmes and events for Rangatahi. Being able to build meaningful connection with rangatahi is a must

This is a permanent opportunity working 38 hours per week. Our library is open seven days a week and you would be required to work a regular weekend day. As a part on the wider Papakura - Manurewa Local Board whanau, flexibility is required to occasionally work at our other sites, Waimaahia, Manurewa and Papakura.
