**Lead Designer, Environmental Statistical & Data Architecture (Fixed term)**

We are currently looking for an experienced data architect / solution architect / senior designer / developer who can think and operate at a strategic level. We have confirmed funding through to the End of June 2024 at this stage with additional work and funding to be confirmed that would make this a multi-year programme of work.

**Te tūnga | The role**

This role is fixed term based in one of the Stats NZ offices or working remotely. You will be part of a cross-agency team and will work closely with colleagues from Stats NZ and the Ministry for the Environment to develop an environmental statistical and data architecture design for New Zealand's Environmental Monitoring and Reporting System (EMRS).

The EMRS is made up of data and information to support current and future decision-making on the environment. You'll engage with stakeholders across the sector, including local and central government, Crown Research Institutes and others to identify the critical features needed to effectively store, share and reuse diverse types of environmental data.

You will be an experienced professional looking to use your skills and knowledge in a new or wider setting. You will be ready to use your skills at the system level looking across multiple organisations and groups. You may have a background in enterprise architecture or similar fields,
