Service Manager Emergency and Medical Management Unit (Rotorua and Taupo)

- Service Management of a group of hospital services within two busy hospitals
- Leading the Medical Management Unit (MMU) for our Senior Doctors and Resident Medical Officers, providing service managers with people management services around these two vital groups of staff

The Lakes District serves a population of approximately 115,000 people and covers the area from the northern end of Lake Rotorua to Tongariro National Park, including Rotorua and Taupō Hospitals.
Based in Rotorua, the role reports to the District Lead and is responsible for the operational and financial performance of a group of services, ensuring the delivery of high quality services to meet patient care requirements, building service capability/sustainability, and meeting contractual and medico-legal obligations.
In addition to managing the Medical Management Unit, the role also covers managing the Emergency departments of the two hospitals, the Integrated Operating Centre (IOC), nursing agency, duty managers, the hospital telephonists, volunteers, and other similar functions.
The role will ideally suit someone with interest in operational hospital management and experience in human resources/people management who wishes to step into complex and challenging health management role. Key attributes include:

Proven leadership skills in a relevant setting
