**Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Reporting to the Head of Product Engineering, the **Digital Development Manager** looks after the practice of Digital Development at the University of Auckland. This is an exciting role that empowers people to connect and support each other across the Developer practice, Digital Services and the greater University.

Some key responsibilities include:

- Identify and implement modern tooling, technologies and development standards and practices to ensure secure, efficient, effective and sustainable delivery.
- Lead and manage the people, processes, and technology involved in software development including the creation of diverse, balanced, and compatible delivery teams that promote autonomy.
- Recruitment, training, and career development of team members.
- Promote cross-functional practices whilst ensuring that tools and technologies are fit for purpose and there is a balance between innovation and consistency.
- Stakeholder management including internal clients and external partnerships with vendors
- Work in partnership with the business areas of the University to deliver successful business outcomes and promote collaboration and communication across teams.

Please note this is a fulltime (37.5 hours/ week) position with a salary range of $160,000 - $171,600 per annum depending on skills & experience. This role is primarily Newmarket campus based, it is not a remote working position - though flexible working options are available.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

With a strong emphasis on people leadership, this unique role requires strong skills in influencing and driving collaboration in large teams. High level communication skills are essential, with verbal, written and inter-personal skills integral to success in this role.

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe 6.0) and proven DevSecOps experience is preferred. Experience within the higher education sector would be favourable.
