This is a senior individual contributor role and will be critical to ensuring our most senior Strategy & Operations leaders are enabled to get the right things done through decision making grounded in analytics.

You will be responsible for leading high-impact analytics projects to support improved decision making for senior leaders across Strategy & Operations. The role will be tasked with generating pan-Xero insights, bringing together multiple data sources in a cohesive way to aid in the most strategically important decisions and require you to align closely with senior executives across the globe.

**What you'll do...**:

- Be an expert in ‘last mile’ analytics, developing analytical models and performing deep dives that convert data into actionable insights.
- Support executives and decision makers using data in a simple and effective way, with world class storytelling and data visualisation skills to inform better decision making from non-technical stakeholders.
- Build a deep knowledge across multiple data domains.
- Insights and analytics outcomes which include but not limited to:

- Deliver Quantitative analysis to aid Xero-wide Strategy process.
- Help drive the monitoring of OKRs for Xero and setting company-level operational KPIs.
- Identify and monitor metrics for external communications (e.g. investors, media)Create cross-portfolio (e.g. Strategy Finance-Revops) metrics and reporting.
- Provide decision support for Pricing and Packaging decisions, connecting product usage to packaging decisions to step change how we commercialise our product.
- Manage the roadmap and backlog of work, including hosting sessions to understand, clarify and document business requirements.
- Advocate for the prioritisation of your initiatives within our team & with external stakeholders.
- Be one of the most knowledgeable people at Xero with regard to the potential commercial return of Xero’s product investments, and ensure this is accurately fed into our GTM plans as they evolve

**Experience you'll bring with you...**:

- 8+ years or more experience in analytics or SaaS, in a stakeholder facing capacity or as a technical practitioner.
- Proven ability to lead analytics projects from end-to-end.
- Experienced at coaching team members to improve the communication, storytelling and technical capability.
- Experienced in delivering analytics in the form of interactive dashboards.
- Experience across cloud data platforms, is highly desirable. eg. Snowflake / DBT.
- Leadership experience and exceptional professional maturity, having a solid understanding of how to make things happen within an organisation.
- Demonstrated experience innovating with data and analytics to create value.

**Critical competencies...**:

- ** Technical**:

- Highly proficient in SQL for data extraction, manipulation and analysis.
- Comfortable working with complex and diverse datasets.
- Proficiency in Tableau and other modern BI tools.
- Previous experience with statistical approaches to analysis.
- Experience with statistical languages such as Python beneficial.
- Ability to establish reporting frameworks.

Non-technical**:

- Commercial mindset, and understanding of SaaS business models.
- Excellent communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to interact with and influence varied stakeholders - both non-technical and technical.
- A passion for improving end-to-end customer experiences and improving ROI.
- Unravelling complexity to get to the root answers.
- Competent capturing and interpreting business requirements.
- Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
