Are you passionate about the power generation industry and eager to contribute to New Zealand's sustainable energy future? Genesis is seeking a dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Electrical and C&I Engineering team. With a focus on Power Transformers and all other smaller transformers, your role will ensure our generation assets meet lifecycle performance and operational requirements. You'll provide technical leadership, engineering solutions, and expert advice while leading Transformer refurbishment and replacement projects.

**About the role**
- ** Asset Management**: Oversee Power Transformer assets through real-time data analysis, collaborating with engineering peers and operations staff.
- ** Project Leadership**: Lead Power Transformer refurbishment/replacement projects, from scope definition to commissioning and documentation handover.
- ** Maintenance Strategies**: Review, develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure asset performance aligns with business goals.
- ** Testing and Inspections**: Schedule and perform Power Transformer testing, inspections, and analysis, maintaining the asset health indicator database.
- ** Technical Support**: Provide expert technical support for troubleshooting, investigations, feasibility studies, and plant maintenance.
- ** Customer Focus**: Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders through regular communication.
- ** Enhancement Initiatives**: Identify and design enhancements for existing and new assets, including technical specifications and risk assessments.
- ** Project Management**: Manage low-cost, short-duration projects, adhering to Genesis's project management framework.
- ** Maintenance Outages**: Provide technical leadership during major maintenance outages to ensure plant reliability.
- ** Health & Safety**: Actively contribute to a safe workplace, complying with H&S processes and legislative guidelines.

**About you**

We are looking for a qualified Engineer, preferably with a background in the power industry or related heavy industry in an equivalent role, with project management experience. You'll have experience with asset management, machine diagnostics, quality management systems. You will have the proven ability to evaluate different options and select solutions that meet our business needs while being able to use your strong articulation skills to convey engineering risks and issues.
