Established in December of 2020, Applied Biosecurity Solutions (ABS) has gone from strength to strength, to a point where we are now looking to find those people who want to share in our success, while at the same time getting to enjoy some of the best working environments you can find anywhere. Our projects are diverse so you will need to embrace change and variety.
In this role you will be leading a team of 6 staff. A strong plant ID knowledge, chemical handling, plant selection and planting layout experience will mean that you are able to coach and mentor others in these aspects of the work.
ABS currently carries out work across the broader Wellington region and we are looking to make our operations more efficient and cost effective for our clients by establishing a permanent team in the region. This role would take the lead of this team and become the face of ABS with our Wellington clients, while working alongside, developing, and mentoring a professional team around you.

**We are looking for high performing Individuals who**:
- Have a genuine interest in working in the outdoors and enhancing NZ’s native biodiversity.
- Have ecological, pest plant, pest animal, horticulture, or similar experience to qualify for a Team Leader role.
Aare health, safety and environmentally conscious.
- Bring a professional attitude and strong work ethic, are reliable and take pride in their work.
- Are physically fit and committed to getting the job done.
- Are reliable and always on time for work.
- Lead from the front - mentor and train junior team members.
- Confident communicator, both oral and written.
- Hold a Full NZ Driver’s license - manual.
- Are happy to travel away for project work as required.
**It would an advantage if you have any of the following**:
- Experience in restoration site preparation, planting, maintenance, and pest plant control
- Relevant tertiary qualification in botany, ecology, or a similar discipline
- Strong plant identification skills, native and exotic.
- Growsafe Registered Chemical Applicator or similar
- First Aid certificate.
- Experience using motorised plant and equipment.
- 4x4 and / or ATV certification and experience.
- Rope Access qualifications.
