Join our dedicated Security team at Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury and Te Tai o Poutini West Coast where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of our people, patients, and visitors. As a Security Operations Advisor, you'll have shared accountability for engaging our Security team with the broader health systems, building trust, and ensuring alignment with our organizational objectives.

Your main responsibilities will include overseeing the operational performance of our contracted security team, maintaining high standards of security across all Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury and Te Tai o Poutini West Coast sites, and contributing to the development and implementation of security programs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure the provision of a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and the public.
- Implement and adhere to security management policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily operational efficiency levels of the security contractor and maintain high standards of their staff.
- Liaise with NZ Police and Department of Corrections for operational processes.
- Conduct Security Risk Assessments, develop Site Security Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provide security advice and training programs to staff across all departments.
- Ensure training needs of the security team are met and that the training is fit for purpose.
- Monitor and give clear feedback to contractors, promoting Health & Safety and addressing poor performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Review security operations against agreed deliverables and communicate adjustments as required.
- Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders.
- Serve as a role model for ethical behaviour and security champion within the organization.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- 10-13 years’ experience in a senior Security Advisor position.
- Experience in people leadership and management.
- Good working knowledge of AUS/NZ risk assessment processes.
- Experience in producing risk assessment and providing advice to staff and the public.
- Experience in large Corporate or Government security practices.
- Experience in administration of large electronic security systems.
- Knowledge of New Zealand legislation relevant to security operations.
- Experience delivering security-related training material.
- Experience developing and maintaining security plans, procedures, and processes.
- Tertiary qualification in security management or related field.
- Qualifications to gain a New Zealand Security Consultant License.
- Current New Zealand Driving License.
