Suicide prevention across the region is being addressed by a large number of social agencies and community group. All looking to impact New Zealand - s poor statistics around suicide. The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and coordinate these efforts to foster relationships, establish common approaches and standards. We have **two** permanent part-time roles available working 40 hours per fortnight.

**Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)**

You will be a qualified health professional with a background in health promotion, quality improvement or project management. In order to succeed in this role you will have the:

- Ability to work with partner agencies to review and strengthen prevention, intervention and postvention initiatives across the health sector. You will lead and update clear protocols and pathways that support a coordinated response across the partner agencies.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team, to maintain data bases, respond to changing demographics of those self harming and attempting suicide. The ability to review to meet program goals and objectives,
- Knowledge of complex mental health and drug and alcohol issues;
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the health and social services sectors and ability to lead or contribute to strategic policy development on suicide prevention and postvention actions.
- Experience working with people with mental illness and those at risk of suicidal behaviour.
