Foxglove Bar & Kitchen, a prestigious waterfront venue and part of Kāpura, a hospitality group with over 35 venues across the North Island, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Bartender to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for bartending, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to lead a team, we want to hear from you

The start date for this role will be during October, with a specific date to be discussed during the interview process. The hourly rate will range from $26.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on your previous experience.

**In this role, you will**:

- Lead and manage a team of bartenders, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high service standards.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of innovative cocktail menus, keeping up with current trends and ensuring a diverse selection of premium beverages.
- Train and mentor bartenders in all aspects of mixology, drink preparation, and service etiquette.
- Maintain a well-stocked bar inventory, manage ordering and receiving of supplies, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with patrons, offering recommendations, and ensuring a memorable experience for all guests.
- Demonstrate a full understanding of costing goods to optimize profitability and minimize waste.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional growth among staff.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for both employees and guests.
- Handle any customer concerns or complaints efficiently and professionally.

**Key requirements for the role**:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end or premium bar environment.
- Extensive knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and craft beers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative and innovative mindset, able to develop unique and visually appealing cocktails.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.

**Additional competencies**:

- Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and control costs.
- Proficient in using bar management software and POS systems.
- Knowledge of local and international spirits, including their production methods and flavor profiles.
- Familiarity with industry trends, new techniques, and emerging ingredients.
- Ability to collaborate with the kitchen team to create harmonious food and beverage pairings.
