Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
At Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand we have a newly created opportunity for a Senior Business Partner in the Ministerial Support and Official Correspondence (MSOC) team.
MSOC is the key interface between the Minister for Land Information, and Toitū Te Whenua. We are a de-centralised Ministerial Support team, meaning we respond to queries internally and externally to the organisation, allocating queries to the relevant area within the organisation for their action.

**Some of the usual work for this team is**:

- Tracking all ministerial service requests and ensuring the quality of responses is to a high standard,
- Assisting our staff to develop strong awareness and skill in ministerial services processes,
- Leading and/or contributing to LINZ's response to major events in the Parliamentary reporting cycle, such as Annual Reviews and Estimates,
- Supporting business groups by providing guidance to ensure that Official Information Act responses are compliant with relevant requirements and obligations,
- Preparing regular weekly reports for Ministers on relevant Toitū Te Whenua activities, and communicating with Minister's offices and external stakeholders.

But this is not all this team are looking to do moving forward.
As a Senior Business Partner in this team you will play a key role in providing support to Ministers and facilitating high-quality Official Correspondence. You will not be left ‘holding the pen' and doing all the writing, we work with others to complete our work. Through this new position we are looking to grow our presence across Toitū Te Whenua, building face to face relationships and finding opportunities to better understand issues that arise, and developing processes to better manage these issues in future.
While fostering continuous improvement and growth across our Ministerial services capability, you will also have the opportunity to play an active role in mentoring staff across in Ministerial processes, both within the team and the wider organisation.

- Has excellent written and oral communication skills, with the confidence to mentor and provide guidance and support to individuals and/or groups of people.
- Is a proven self-starter, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and the drive to proactively initiate activities/projects in response to identified risks, issues or problems, and escalating as appropriate.
- Able to foster continuous improvement and growth across our Ministerial Services and organisational capability.
- Able to quickly establish excellent working relationships with a wide variety of people.
- Has a sound understanding of the machinery of government and government processes, and a knowledge of Parliamentary processes.
- Has strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of their work.

The expected appointing range for this role is $105,000 - $122,000.
