**COMMUNITY SUPPORT PERSON**

The primary function and responsibility of the Residential Support employee is to support,

educate, assist and encourage individuals and groups, with an intellectual disability in their daily living situations, whether it be in the home, or in their social, training, leisure and living activities. This includes the following tasks:
Supporting Residents to learn skills for daily living

Meeting Residents day to day health and needs

Providing personal cares

Maintaining a safe environment

Helping Residents plan and achieve their goals

Assist, assess and monitor individual's personal programmes, treatments, eating plans, exercises programmes etc as prescribed / directed by specialist/ Management/ medical personal.

Reading, writing of daily Resident notes

Maintaining responsibility and documentation of dispensation of medication.

Transportation of Residents in a safe and legal manner.

Assisting Residents with personal shopping.

Responsible for household shopping as rostered.

Assist / preparation of meals, clean-up, washing, ironing, general household cleaning and maintaining a standard of hygiene and appearance, acceptable to Health and Safety regulations and Trust standards.

To communicate in a professional manner with respect and dignity at all times.

Training is given around all the above duties at orientation and is ongoing during your employment. There is also an expectation of attendance of any additional training both internal and external of the Trust.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.50 - $29.10 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

- Night shift
- Public holidays
- Rotating roster
- Weekend availability
