Our
team of Sterile Services/Theatre Technicians work in our modern
state-of-the-art Operating Theatre suite at Wairau Hospital sterilising and
processing reusable instruments and equipment for the operating theatres and
other hospital departments. They also assisting nursing teams with patient
transportation, theatre cleaning and equipment provision.
We have two part-time
positions, each working 64 hours a fortnight (0.8FTE). Shifts worked are rostered
and rotating to cover the Operating Theatre scheduled lists and afterhours on
call.

We are looking for two enthusiastic team players who want to develop
a career in sterile services. You will be eager to learn and thrive in a busy
environment, and you will be flexible to meet the changing demands of
the roster.
For the health and safety
of staff and patients you
are required to provide proof that you have completed your primary course of NZ
approved Covid-19 vaccinations.

Permanent
employees have the opportunity to study towards the National Certificate in
Sterilising Technology (Level
4), from the New Zealand Open Polytechnic; the cost of which will be met
by the hospital, if not already attained.
The full-time equivalent salary range for these positions is $49,360 to $58,923 (steps 1 to 4) based on the Allied Public Health & Technical MECA dependent on
skills, experience and relevant qualifications.
Situated at the top of the South Island,
