Customer Technology works across many parts of the business to ensure our people have the best tools to do their jobs and that our customers are connected to Xero in a way that strengthens their relationship. As well as tools and processes we look after customer channels that stretch from customer support, education and community through to product onboarding and relationship management for our Partner communities.

We serve many audiences both internal and external, with many pathways and outcomes for each and at the heart are the experiences we own that guide and support them all. We are a uniquely placed Product organisation and this role reflects the unique UX, channel and content challenges we have to solve on a daily basis.

Stitching experiences together along with our other products and digital channels is an ongoing and high level challenge that will be a central focus for this role. How we balance UX, channel, content and business concerns across this landscape will be your domain. Working in close partnership with our Product management teams and external content, channel and Product partners across Xero will dictate how successful we can be.

**What you'll do**:

- Lead top level channel strategy for Xero Central and Partner Central, combining topics like IA, navigation, cross channel linkage and platform experiences (e.g. search).
- Oversee Product design standards across the Customer Technology team to ensure we have aligned experiences and consistent quality. Additionally with a focus on rationalising on site content and microcopy with elements from around the organisation like brand segmentation and Customer value propositions.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of trends within the content, product and design industries as well as within Xero itself. With the aim of keeping Customer Technology connected to organisational standards and approaches.
- Integrate our various Product team level strategies with content, experience and technology strategies around Xero to ensure we are delivering against our top level strategic goals.
- Lead prioritisation of our highest level experience and channel strategies within our Product roadmaps, working closely with Product management to make the correct tradeoffs and investments.
- Lead independent initiatives to deliver on areas of the strategy or design debt with engineering, sometimes in lieu of a Product Manager when required.
- Lead CT engagement with content production, Product marketing and lifecycle management teams across the business to ensure their strategies align or are factored into our own channel and experience strategies.

**What you'll bring with you**:

- Experience leading other designers working on complex software
- Experience building and iterating on a product based on usage patterns, user feedback and an evolving strategic landscape
- A portfolio that demonstrates high-quality design outcomes, contributing to user experience and business value
- A mastery of the entire design process from uncovering customer needs and pain points, to executing elegant interfaces
