We are now seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Forestry and Agriculture investment team based out of the Rotorua office. The Forestry & Agriculture line of business manages a portfolio of timberlands and farmland in eight countries globally covering more than 400,000 hectares. These investments are held through private pooled investment funds and include a wide range of strategies and entities.

The Forest Investment Associate will be responsible for supporting the F&A team across a wide range of forestry and agriculture investment operations with a primary focus on investments in New Zealand. The Associate will also assist with other international F&A investment activities on a project-by
- project basis.

Key aspects of the role include;
- Support Investment Managers in acquisition and due diligence of land and established forest assets.
- Support Investment Managers in the operational oversight of forest management activities.
- Complete technical analyses - Geospatial mapping and analysis, forest yield projections, carbon table development, woodflow and cashflow forecasting.
- Support Investment Managers in the development of strategic and tactical plans to optimize forest management regimes.
- Complete NZ based research and analysis.
- Support Investment Managers with annual property budgeting and valuation reviews.
- Support companywide ESG initiatives and assist Investment Managers in the collection of property level impact metrics.

The position will support strong career development potential in the timberland investment management sector and provides a unique opportunity to work with highly experienced professionals and teams located globally to develop a strong skillset in investment management.

Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are also key requirements, along with a working knowledge of GIS, Forecaster, Tigermoth or Woodstock. Advantageous software expertise includes VBA, Python and SQL.

While the intended focus of the position will be on forestry investments in New Zealand, there will be potential to widen the scope of responsibilities to include agricultural strategies in NZ as well as forestry and agriculture strategies in Australia and further abroad.

The position will involve frequent travel throughout New Zealand and internationally on occasion.
